Baccarat is the French spelling for the Italian word ‘zero’ or ‘baccara’, and can be traced all the way back to 1490, when it was a favourite game of nobles during the reign of King Charles VIII, hence the moniker ‘Game of Kings’. Baccarat, Play like Royalty

Baccarat is a very simple game to play. The dealer handles the draw of cards according to specific rules and, as in Roulette or Craps, the player has no decisions to make during the game. The only two decisions a bettor must make, before each hand is dealt, are the selection of the position they believe will win the next hand, and determining the amount of the wager. The House banks all bets, and collects or makes payouts on each hand that is dealt. However, it is a good idea to be familiar with the rules, as it will heighten the enjoyment of the game, and the anticipation of the turn of a card. Overall, Classic Baccarat is one of the best games in the casino for the bettor.

Getting Started with Baccarat

Baccarat is played with six decks of cards that are re-shuffled after each hand. You can bet on either the Player's side, the Bank side, or on a Tie. Four cards are dealt, the first and third to the Player's hand, the second and fourth to the Banker's hand.

The objective of the game is to wager on the hand that will finish with a point total of 9, or as close to it as possible.

Your chips are stacked in the right corner of the screen. Place a bet by dragging the chips on the Player, Banker or Tie spots, above your name. To cancel your bet, drag and drop it back to your stack or click the right-hand mouse button while pointing at the bet you wish to cancel. Click "Deal" to start the round. The Player and Banker are dealt 2 cards each. The third card is dealt automatically according to ‘Third Card Rules’

Third Card Rules:

Banker's Third Card Rule may depend on the third card drawn for the Player.

0-1-2 Must draw if Player does not hold a "Natural" 8 or 9

3-4-5 Must draw if player does not draw a third card and player does not hold a

“Natural” 8 or 9

6 Must stand if player does not draw a third card

7-8-9 Must stand

Payout

Player's winning hand wagers are paid 1 to 1.

So, if you bet on the Player hand, and the Player hand was closer to 9 than the Banker’s hand, you get your bet back, plus an additional sum equal to your original bet.

Banker's winning hand wagers are paid 1 to 1. The House charges a 5% commission (vigorish) on all winning Bank wagers. The commission is deducted immediately upon payment of the winnings.

Tie bet winning wagers are paid 8 to 1.

Meaning that if you bet on the Tie hand, and Banker and Player have the same hand count, you get your bet back, plus an additional sum equal to your original bet multiplied by 8.

The table limits appear in the game and differ between Standard, High Rollers and VIP players.
